Here's a draft of the new constitution to reinstate our status as an actual Ball State organization. Take a bit of time to look at it and make a comment. I'm going to complete our application by the end of this semester.

I agree with the new constitution. However I am left wondering how many officers we need, and how many members are currently in GDP. I also think that the president shouldn't have as much responsibility as stated because it could be too much for one student to handle. The officers appointed by the president should help to take on some of the tasks and alleviate a lot of stress and pressure that the president will have. I have one very important suggestion: GAMMA DELTA PI NEEDS TO PULL TOGETHER TO REACH STUDENTS. Members alone telling their friends to join will not be as productive as a flyer/poster in ever MCOB classroom. GDP could also run an invitation in the Daily News. In addition to flyers/posters in MCOB, GDP could have flyers around campus, and could appoint members to hand out flyers at certain locations on campus. GDP could also take advantage of the plastic centerpiece/ad holders in all dining facilities. Getting more members is crucial if GDP would like to be recognized as an official organization at Ball State. Members of GDP need to pull together; we can combine our individual skills and specialties to reach many more potential members than any of us could on our own. GDP should also consider meeting at times when students with heavy class loads would have the ability to attend such as early in the morning or later in the evening than 5p. Possibly 7am or 8pm. Everyone is welcome to email me at smpickett2@bsu.edu to tell me your thoughts on my comment, I would love to hear any other suggestions or ideas.
Stefanie, thanks for your input :) The officer portion was in part made because, yes currently I'm the only officer. I'm currently working on marketing materials like you mentioned, and am always looking for new ideas. Also, anyone currently interested in official positions is always welcome to talk to me (as forementioned in the constitution) about what sort of things they'd be interested in doing for GDP. Meetings can also be changed- this is most definetly a club able to cater to individual's interests.
I'm hopeful for the next semester as we've come a long way in getting things started again. Thanks for everyone's help. We'll continue to work out the details with our Wal-Mart presentation, as well as any other ideas you have (including possible guest speakers). On that note, if any of you have additional promotional skills (like Stephanie has mentioned) then please contact me and we'll work on what needs to be done to have visibility within the BSU community. I have some computer graphics abilities, but am always open to bounce further conceptual ideas off of people.
Another idea: offer tutoring for econ students. some people have a hard time in that class. It could be a service our organization could provide; people could here about us.
